As a Clinic Lead overseeing the Otolaryngology and Pediatric Specialty departments, you will assist in managing the day-to-day front end operations of a busy department - providing leadership, and supervision to the clinic staff. You will be responsible for managing and delegating the work of the front end staff, medical assistants, and surgery scheduler, in addition to collaborating with the physicians, nurses and physician assistants who provide care in the clinic. You will have the primary responsibility of evaluating and coordinating the workflow, and overseeing the activity of the clinic, while providing excellent customer service to the patients that are seen in the clinic. In addition, you will also be responsible for:

+ Monitoring clinic operations, including billing processes and all other components of the revenue cycle

+ Effectively communicating with all staff at monthly meetings to provide direction, generating staff and clinic goals, and resolving issues

+ Providing training, monitoring and coaching to all clinic staff in the patient arrival processes, charge entry, appointment scheduling, insurance referral and authorization processes.

+ Coordinating clinic staff work schedules to support clinic activity levels. Identifying and resolving any operational problems that may occur concerning patient flow, medical information, clinic scheduling and staffing

+ Ensuring maintenance of scheduling grids in MiChart and recommend changes to grids and scheduling processes to meet clinic activity.

+ Creating coordinated and standard work processes by generating and implementing lean principles in clinic. Making recommendations for changes in clinic operations as needed to better meet the needs of our patients

+ Actively assisting or leading in the development and execution of solutions to address patient access, and patient satisfaction goals

+ Provide input and assistance on the annual evaluation process.

**Required Qualifications***

+ Strong leadership skills

+ Must be able to work in a team setting and have excellent communication skills

+ Possess a professional and positive image when interacting with patients, faculty and staff

+ Possess excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills

+ Demonstrated ability to interact in a diverse population and effectively manage and lead staff.

**Desired Qualifications***

+ Previous supervisory experience

+ BS or BA with experience in health care setting

+ Experience with an electronic medical record

+ Experience working in an ambulatory setting

+ Knowledge of UMHS/University of Michigan policy and procedures.

**Work Schedule**

This is a full-time position, working Monday through Friday. Typical hours are from 8:00AM-5:00PM. The hours depend on the clinic operation hours.

As part of the orientation training process, your training will be held at multiple locations during your first few months of the employment.
