Accountant Robert Half Finance has an opportunity for you to become a critical part of an innovative Healthcare/NHS company, as a full-time General Ledger Accountant. Ideal candidates will thrive on solving challenges and handling multiple projects and components. The ideal candidate for this GL Accountant position can prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. In this role, you will perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. Major responsibilities - Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner - Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting - In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations - Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries - Participate in various department-wide initiatives - Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation - Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls under SOX while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP - Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules - Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll - Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers - Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision - Handle intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation - Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
